Christmas 2007: Our New Puppy!
We got a new puppy. The rescue shelter she came from said she's a
Black Lab / Shar Pai mix. She doesn't look at all like a Shar Pai, but
her siblings do. The vet also says there's something else mixed in there
because the white paws and chest don't come from a Lab or Shar Pai. So
basically she's a mutt!
We named her Zoey and she's adorable and a lot of fun. She weighed 18# when we got her at 10 weeks old. Now, 3 weeks later, she weighs 24#. Yikes .. I tried to steer the kids to a breed that weighs no more than 30#, but you can see I failed miserably with that aspect. We expect her to grow to over 50#.
Feb 2007: Discovery Cove
The best vacation I ever had was to Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida, with my children, Kyle (age 14) and Jack (age 11). This place is awesome and you have to make an effort to go there .. especially if you have kids. You get to spend the day swimming with all kinds of tropical fish and stingrays, playing in a large pool, interacting with birds in the aviary, and the highlight of the day is a half an hour of interacting and swimming with a dolphin! It was soooo cool! I literally had tears in my eyes when we left the dolphin, whose name is C.J. It was extremely emotional!
